House Rules
At Travellers Lodge, we aim to provide a relaxed, comfortable, and respectful environment for all our guests. We kindly ask that you observe the following house rules to ensure an enjoyable stay for everyone.
🌿 Respect & Consideration
Travellers Lodge is a shared guesthouse. Please be considerate of other guests at all times. Loud or disruptive behaviour is not permitted, especially in communal areas.
🔕 Quiet Hours
To maintain a peaceful atmosphere, quiet hours are observed from 22h00 to 07h00. Noise levels should be kept to a minimum during this time.
🚭 No Smoking
Smoking is strictly prohibited inside all rooms and indoor areas. Guests are welcome to smoke only in designated outdoor areas. Any violation may result in additional cleaning charges.
🍳 Communal Kitchen Use
The communal kitchen is shared by all guests and is available for light self-catering.
Please:
- Clean up after use
- Label and store personal food items
- Be respectful of shared space and equipment
🔥 Braai Facilities
Outdoor braai facilities are available for all guests. Please use these responsibly, keep the area tidy, and ensure fires are fully extinguished after use.
🏡 Room Care
Each room is equipped with a mini fridge, coffee station, Wi-Fi, ceiling fan, television, desk, and chair.
Please treat all furnishings and amenities with care. Any damage or loss may be charged to the guest.
👥 Visitors
Only registered guests are permitted on the property. Visitors must be approved by management in advance.
🔑 Disclaimer
Guests are responsible for their own valuables. All guests stay at Travellers Lodge at their own risk. While we take reasonable care to ensure a safe and comfortable environment, Travellers Lodge is not responsible for loss, theft, injury, or damage to personal belongings, except where required by South African law.
🧹 Check-Out
Please leave rooms in a reasonable condition upon departure and return all keys as instructed.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation Policy – Travellers Lodge Guest House
(Aligned with South African Consumer Protection Act & major booking platforms)
1. General Terms (Consumer Protection Act Compliance)
In accordance with the Consumer Protection Act (CPA), Travellers Lodge Guest House reserves the right to charge a
reasonable cancellation fee based on:
* The notice period before arrival
* The ability to re-let the room
* The nature of the booking (length of stay, group size, season)
2. Standard Bookings (Direct Reservations)
Including bookings through travellerslodge.co.za wesite
* 7+ days before check-in: Full refund (no cancellation fee)
* 3–6 days before check-in: 50% of total booking charged
* Less than 3 days / No-show: 100% of total booking charged
3. Platform Bookings
For reservations made via third-party platforms, their policies may override or complement ours:

Cancellation terms are set per rate plan (Flexible / Non-refundable).
Guests must cancel via the Booking.com platform.
4. Group Bookings (3 Rooms or More)
* 14+ days before check-in: Full refund
* 7–13 days before check-in: 50% charged
* Less than 7 days: 100% charged
5. Peak Periods & Special Events
(Including public holidays and long weekends)
* 14+ days before check-in: Full refund
* Less than 14 days: 100% charged
6. Early Departures & No-Shows
* Early departures may be charged for the full reserved stay.
* No-shows will be charged 100% of the booking value.
7. Refund Processing
* Refunds are processed within 7–10 business days.
* Bank charges or transaction fees may be deducted where applicable.
8. Amendments
* Changes must be requested at least 72 hours before arrival.
* Subject to availability and possible rate adjustments.
9. Force Majeure
Travellers Lodge Guest House will not be liable for cancellations due to events beyond control (e.g., natural disasters, government restrictions), but reasonable efforts will be made to reschedule bookings where possible.
